Are your eyes giving away your age?

What is it about our eyes that gives away any slipups like lack of sleep, whether we had a little too much to drink, consumed too much salt or worse yet, our age? Sadly, most of the time fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes make us look “older” than we really are – not younger.

Ossential - Radical Night Repair Plus

As we age, skin cells go dormant and cellular generation slows; what used to take 30 days now takes considerably longer. Old, dull, damaged skin cells remain on the surface of the skin. To accelerate cellular turnover, Ossential® Radical Night Repair Plus features a potent concentration of retinol. After it has penetrated our skin, retinol reacts with natural enzymes to convert to trans-retinoic acid, which is a usable form of Vitamin A. Skin can then generate new cells and produce more collagen. This activity makes older cells rise to the surface and exfoliate.

Benefits of Whitening Facial

Sometimes topical creams such as, hydroquinone and tretinoin do not work fast enough to correct deeper pigmentation problems or sun damage. For many people lasers are not an option due to cost constraints or downtime. Your skin maybe in good shape, but you abused it by having too much fun in the sun, vacationing, or a weekend without enough sunscreen. All of us fall in one or a combination of the above scenarios and anyone above age 25 definitely has signs of visible sun damage that can be improved even if topical creams or procedures are not a viable option.

Yes, To Results Oriented Facials

In general, facials offered at a reputable Dermatologist’s office play an important role in complementing your treatment and have an actual benefit on skin. At the Obagi Skin Health Institute in San Gabriel, all treatments are results-oriented, providing you with immediate results. Services are performed adhering to the highest level of cleanliness and comfort. All treatments utilize custom treatment creams, masks, and techniques developed by both Dr. Obagi and myself to enhance your results and to provide your skin with the ultimate benefit.

Sunscreens - Must Have Information

Both the Obagi Nu-Derm® Healthy Skin Protection and Obagi C-Rx® Sun Protection hold The Skin Cancer Foundation Seal of Approval as viable physical blocks for protecting against both ultraviolet A rays (A for aging) and ultraviolet B (B for burning) rays. Any physical block including Obagi, should be reapplied every 2-3 hours if in direct sun light and immediately after coming out of the water. The snow, water, and sand reflect more sunlight and result in burning regardless of whether it is overcast or not.

Keratosis Pilaris

Keratosis Pilaris, its’ nickname is chicken skin, but it’s more formally referred to as keratosis pilaris by dermatologists or plastic surgeons. Whatever you call it—it’s not easily corrected, and treatment can last for six months, however, advancements in topical treatments allow us to successfully treat this condition, within as little as a month (for marked improvement).

This condition appears as little red bumps on the back of the upper arms, the thighs, torso and/or derriere. It frequently affects people with eczema or asthma.

Stay Out Of Hot Water

You already know that it’s good to stay out of proverbial “hot water”. But it’s good to stay out of the real stuff too.

Long showers—especially during the cold winter months, dehydrate the skin—causing not only a loss of water, but electrolytes. When your skin is dehydrated, it becomes scaly, taut, irritated, and makes you look older. So let’s face the facts and see how best to protect your skin:

Wash with tepid water, and shower only once a day. Hot water will dehydrate and damage your skin.
